I know this has been asked and answered before, but I don't think the answers given were correct. I now have a definition of hipoteca de máximo:
Se conoce como hipoteca de máximo aquella hipoteca de seguridad (constituida en garantía de determinada obligación cuyos elementos no se encuentran todos registralmente determinados) en la que no aparece fijado el importe exacto de la obligación asegurada, sino sólo el máximo a que puede ascender la responsabilidad hipotecaria.
Would anybody know what that is now?

This form of mortgage will apply e.g. to revolving credit facilities. However, enforcement might be less straightforward than in the case of a mortgage securing defined actual liabilities as the lender will be put to prove of quantum of the obligations secured.
