neutral david angel (X) : Rebecca's probably right, but isn't this maybe American usage? UK usage (for an undergraduate) would be First Class Honours (by unanimous decision.)

agree Patricia Posadas : "summa cum laude" is used in UK for PhD, they used to transate mine this way when I attended some conferences:-) I have also seen it translated as "Excellent cum laude".
